Well we missed last weeks unplug your kid project. We came back full force for this one though. It was a puzzle theme this week. Sam and I had puzzle fever, we made seven of them to share. The first few are of Sam's.
When I told Sam what all of the different types of puzzles were and said he could make any of them, he got really excited. This first one he choose to do was a word find. I know that this is a "unplug project" but I allowed him to use the computer for it. He choose all his own words and designed it himself. he was very cute and called it Sam Search.
The next one he choose to do was a crossword puzzle. I told him this time he could not use the computer for it, he was fine with that. I gave him some graph paper and designed it on there. He completly blew dh and me away with this one. His free handed the whole thing and the only problem was that one word was off on one space. I think that is pretty impresive since he is only seven and never made one before (also that is better than I can do LOL). This was the last one that he made and it shows of his artistic side. He took out tongue depressors and designed a picture on them. I will tell you that this is more challenging than it looks.
Ok the rest of these beauties (LOL) are mine. The first few are ones that I did for Gabe. I took a Poster Board and cut it into fourths. Then I took each one and drew one of his favorite things on it. When I completed it i laminated for longer use and the cut it into pieces. The first one is of a rocket because that is his absolute favorite thing.
"The Boat"
"The Car"
"The Train"
This last one I made for Sam. One of his favorite things in the world is to study the states. So I got a map and glued it to a Poster Board. When I was done that I cut out all of the states and Laminated them. He loves it. He is now studying the major highways and city of each state.

Make sure to check out the other ones at Unplug Your Kids. Join us next week for we are going to do sculptures.

Sam did a great job with the word search and crossword. Very nice work for a 7 year-old.
I also really liked the tongue depressor puzzle, I would never have thought of that. And gluing a map onto poster board and making a puzzle out of it is sheer genius!
