A clean up of the boys room....
This past weekend we took apart the boys room and reorganized it. It took us the entire weekened but I think that the end result was worth it. I have the before and after pictures to prove it. LOL....
This is their room before. Who knew that two little boys could make such a mess. I promise that I have had them clean their room everyday.

What happens when your child does not feel challenged....
Recently Sam has been asking me alot if I could add extra this and that into his schedule. The problem is that we had no room in the schedule. Well that means time for a new schedule. After all what is the point of homeschooling if you are not learning the way you want right. ;) I talked it over with dh and we decided to let Sam redo the schedule. We were not crazy and let him have full control of course. Other wise math and english would be gone from his schedule. What we did was make a list of all the classes that we thought he should have and then how many days a week it should be there. Once we made this list we gave it to Sam. The rules was he could only add to it, classes and/or day amounts. He added abunch more days no extra subjects though.
After that was finished I wrote out cards for each class that was chosen. There was also enough cards written out for each day. I then gave Sam all of the cards. He then set about designing his (and Gabe's too) schedule.
Once he finished the schedule seemed a little over whelming to him. I told him that he could take out any cards that he wanted, just do not go below what we had originally had set for him. On most of the subjects he stayed above what we had chosen. If you look over at the table that line of cards is what he removed.

Two new stations...
All of the new organizing we have made two new stations.. The first is the reading station. We got this new bench at target for $15. The boys love the new bench. During their down time Gabe brings it into his room because he wants Sam to read stories to him on it. very cute.
This second Center is complements of Gabe. It is our new Magnet station. Really what it is, the washer and drier. It sets right off the kitchen. It holds magnets alot better than the fridge. It is a really nice center. Good Job Gabe!

Oh Look What I have been doing...
As many of you that read this blog know that I live in a small apartment with not much storage room. So any way that we can find more we usually jump on it. We found these at Target and we love them. They are so sturdy. The boys even have a set in their room. It has given so much more room to our little school house here. The boys are finding it much easier to locate everything on their own to. I am trying to organize everything around here for the new school year. When it is done I will make sure to share with everyone how it looks. Have a great day!

As most of you can probably tell from my recent entries that we are trying to get our ever tiny apartment organized so that we have a little more room in here. After all the boys are getting bigger every day and yet the place seems to be getting smaller and smaller. (LOL) Well last night we decided it was time to bunk the boys beds to give them some more room in there. They loved it so much they both wanted to do their school work in their beds. When they finished the work they took full advantage of having a much larger floor to play on. They put out race car and train tracks. Gabe even played in his rice bin. All of that and my living room is still clean. Yeah!!!! LOL! Oh and i do not know if any of you noticed but right above Sams head is a poster of the world. The kid loves geography so much it is the first thing he sees when he wakes up and the last thing he see at night. So you guys can probably see why we choose a world geography theme for us to study by this year.

We spent this weekend doing major cleaning as a family. Some of you might not know that we actually live in a small 2 bedroom apartment. Since we do storage is in really high demand for us. We have to use every area to the best of our ability. Because of the lack of storage it makes it really hard to keep the place picked up and organized, so every so often we have to go through an do a major cleaning of the place to get it back together. I thought that I would show some pictures of our work because we actually set up some school stations. The first picture is of the Library books. We always have a huge amount at any given time. It makes it hard to keep the amount small because Sammy has his own library card and he loves books. So we made a spot for them to keep the library books.
This is a picture of the cooking and grocery station that we set up for them. It used to be set up in the corner and got blocke off with a lot of things so they did not get to play with it much. Now it is out in the open and they love it.
This is a picture of one half in the Living room. On the left side of the picture is the toy corner. It has the puppets and music station at the top. Next two down are the truck shelves. Then the bottom is their active station. You see the trampoline but there is balls and hopscotch games plus other things. If you move over to the bottom of the entertainment center there is the sensory station for the boys, and their video games (Learning ones only of course). Then next to that is the alphabet wall and an art table.
This picture is the other half of the living room. The wall has all of our books on it from regular reading books to our reference books. The cubbies are filled with the science station, math station, art supplies, and English station. The puzzles are way up at the top of the highest shelves only because we do not have a better place to put them. At the end of the shelving is the recyclables that we use for creating art.
While my DH and I spent the weekend working on the living room the boys worked on their room. You could not even see their floor. Well they did so good on it they decided that was where they wanted to play this morning. They actually let us sleep in a little this morning and this is what I woke up to find. So sweet when they play together.
So I hope you enjoyed the little tour into my world. Please come back and visit us soon.
