A Lion Dance....

So things get really busy around here and unfortunetly the blog losses my attention. It is a shame because I really do love working on my blog. It is a want a not a need when it comes to things needing to be done, so it is one of the first things that need to be cut. I am going to spend some time today to set up some extra entries, hopefully. Until then I put a video on of one of the many fun and wonderful things that we have been doing. Our friend is of chinese descent and had a 100 day celebration for her son recently. During the celebration they have a lion dance to get rid of any bad spirits. This is a video of the Dance, I hope that you enjoy it. I have one more video to post but blogger is not letting me. So later then.

The return of the book list....

Wow it has been along time since I have gotten a book list up. We have gone through some really good books to, just not enough time to post them. Hopefully I can straighten things out and start posting again more regurally on everything. Here's hoping! Count Me A Rhyme by Jane Yolen -- First of all I love any Jane Yolen books and this is no exception. She made some beautiful counting poems about animals. There are wonderful pictures to go along with all of the animal poems to. Monkey Business by Wallace Edwards -- This is a book all about idioms and how they would look if they were translated literally. They are complimented by so many beautiful drawings in this book. Then to top it off they have a little picture find on every page, They hide a monkey on every page. A very fun topic for my boys.
Yo-Yo Man by Daniel Pinkwater -- A great story to teach kids when you are having a rough time with something, try to focus on something you can control. Like learning a new skill, maybe a yo-yo. Dear Deer by Gene Barretta -- As a homeschooling mom I am always looking for fun ways to teach subjects. English becomes a bit tough to make fun and intersting. That is what I like when I find books like this, a fun way to teach certain topics in english. This one is all about Homophones.

Mom Of The Year?!?!?!

At least that is what my friend Kate thinks. She is far to kind, but I am really honored.

There are some rules that come along with this:

Admit one thing you feel awful about involving being a mom. Get it off your shoulders. Once you've written it down, you are No Longer allowed to feel bad. It's over with, it's in the past. Remember, you're a good mom!

Oh what to narrow it down to, so much to choose from. I would have to say my patience with the boys. I lose it so quickly during the day, well not every day, but often enough. I am trying to work on that, I think it is getting better.

Step two -- Remind yourself you are a good mom, list seven things you love about your kids, you love doing with your kids, or that your kids love about you. These are the things to remind yourself everyday that you Rock!

O.K. Seven between two boys, It won't be easy but I can narrow down all of the things that I love about them to seven things.

1.) The thirst of knowledge that the boys have for everything. They want to learn everything they get their hands on.

2.) Seeing the brotherly love that falls between the two of them.

3.) Watching them dance, it always bring a smile to my face!

4.) When we go to the library, I love how we guide them back to the car because they can not get their nose out of the books.

5.) I love how they always want to help me with cooking.

6.) When we snuggle up and just read.

7.) Of course the number one thing that I love about them the most is their smile and laughter. It is infectious.

Now I need to name 7 other mothers for this award, I wish that I could name all of them because they all deserve this award. Well here are the ones that I chose.

1.) Amber -- even though we tend to miss her here in the blog world, She is an amazing mom. The reason that she is missing so much from blog world is because she is so busy with her children.

2.) Yasmina -- It is almost like we have twin boys, just seperated at birth. LOL. I love all of the crafty stuff she does with her kids.

3.) Piseco Mom at Mind Games -- Other than the fact that she has some of the sweetest most adorable little kids to show that she is such a wonderful mom, she does so much for her kids during schooling. I mean come on she did an exam on actual roadkill, what a mom!

4.) Mrs. Darling -- If only I could be as organized as her. She is always on the go with her kids and completes so much with them. She is always offering her advice up on her blog to help out us other moms.

5.) Patricia -- She has twins and takes them out on amazingly fun outings, then shares some beautiful pictures of the events with us.

6.) Amy Sue -- She maintains a house with 3 boys (one is a newborn) and a bunch of bunnies. To keep a house running with that much going on shows how amazing of a mom that she is.

7.) Fairiemom -- She is a great at always trying to find new and intersting ways for her daughter to learn. I have even a learned of a few new fun things for my boys.

These are all amazing moms, make sure to check them out. What I write about them does not do enough justice for them.

My beautiful boy, my first born, Happy 9th Birthday! My life changed for the better the day you entered it.
Wow, you have changed so much over the years but one thing has stayed the same, your heart. You are one of the sweetest kind hearted people that I have ever known. I love how you think about things in the world. Keep the way that you are, I love you so much my little book worm.
