Ok now time for some of the books that we will be using this year. One of the subjects that we have had a hard time with making sure that the kids are learning with is Science. We can come up with plenty of experiments to do. To continue on and explain it , is another whole issue. To back us up this year we got the boys some science books. See here and here for some examples of what we got. If you scroll down to the bottom of the pages when you are there you will be able to see all of them in each of the series that we got. The great thing is that the books cover a few different years so they will last us a while.
The site that we bought those books off from let us get a free book since we spent enough money. I choose this one because of Sam's love of geography.
For over all learning, to make sure that we are staying on the right track. I went to Amazon and bought a book for each Sam and Gabe about their grade level. Hopefully these will help through out the year when I have the brain power loss, and I have no clue what they should be doing.
We do have a ton of reference books around that the boys can look things up at any time that they want to. One of my new favorite place to get learning books from is BJ's. They have such great bargins on books. I got workbooks that normally go for 20 dollars for 8. :) We will still go to the Library of course. Sam would never forgive us if we stopped. He really wants to move in to a library. LOL Silly boy.
I do have a Question though. We are looking for a really good Art book. I want something that will teach them all about the different styles of art and artist. It would be a bonus if had some project for them to do to. Any body have suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is an art program called Artistic Pursuits that sounds like it might have all that you want. I haven't actually seen a copy, but I read quite a bit about it from another group I'm on. I found out about your blog here from the living math group.

I just read this post and book list. I see that you have Little Acorns on your blog roll so maybe you've already seen it.
