I wanted to post an update on the Time Science entry. We are still using the clock, tried a few different items in it, interesting results. We started out using water in both tubes, this kept perfect time. Well then one tube was emptied and Grape soda was added in. This actually ran ten minutes fast, and after a couple of days the soda was almost clear. Well that was switched out for mouth wash. This is actually running ten minutes behind. We are extremly interested in this (simple people we are LOL). We highly recommend trying out this time clock if you have not already gotten one.

Timed Science
We purchased a time station from national geographic. It is one of the coolest projects we have gotten for him. For his first time using it we just filled it with water, but as you can see it actually works. You can fill the tubes with pretty much any type of kitchen substance (Ketchup, soda, toothpaste, and lemon juice. Just to name a few) He loved it. He loves science and is trying to learn how to tell time. This was a perfect gift and can not wait to try out more substances.

Sensory Gabe
As I have posted in previous entries my son Gabe has sensory issues. He has a lot of fun playing with different things to get the feelings he needs. One of his favorite things to play with is corn meal. Here are some pictures that I took of him yesterday playing with it.

He also has an obsession with putting thing in a line. Mostly he loves to line up his cars in certain order, and if you move them watch out. Well he was supposed to put his cars in their bin last night, and guess what he lined them up. LOL

We went to the park this morning. Decided to enjoy the beautiful morning and have breakfast with the boys. They enjoyed their fresh muffins and berries.

Well we had company , however Gabe decided that he needed to go.

After finishing eating the boys wanted to go to the adventure ship. A very cool playground.
I think their favorite was the slide.

A couple of weeks ago someone posted on the homeschool group that I belong to about a fact wall. I thought that idea was great so I started doing that with my son. I thought to keep him interested we could change the topic each week. Well he finished he first week so I thought I would post a picture. He was so proud he learned alot about Koalas. Well his brother wanted to have a wall of his own so he posed with pictures that he painted. Hope you all enjoy.

When I got the boys to focus on their work today things went really well. As you see in the pictures Sammy tried helping his brother paint his work sheets, but I got him off on the right direction in his work. As you can see in my superman picture. This left Gabe to do his worksheets all on his, which I think he is pretty proud of. When he finished them he snuck off for a little reading time, on his trampoline. lol. Then Sammy moved on to doing his math on the computer. All in all it was a good day.

Borax Crystals
My husband and I were trying to find a cool science project to do with the kids this weekend, We came across the borax crystals recipe. We found it in the book called Glues, Brews, and Goos. In case some one does not have the recipe and may want it, here you go
ingredients-
2/3 cup Borax
1 cup water
String( We used pipecleaners)
Wide mouth Jar
Something to hang string from top of jar
Step 1.Heat the water to boiling.
Step 2. add borax to the water and dissolve
step 3. carefully pour the solution into the jar
step 4. Suspend the string from a pencil on top of the jar into the solution.
step 5. Place where it will not be disturbed and wait for crystals. They should form over night.

We plan on doing this project with the kids over the weekend. I will post more pictures from what they do
